Happy New Year!

We are starting off 2025 with a promise to our membership: to update this website!!! We’ve had some difficulties accessing these pages, but we think we’ve now figured out how to do that. We’re working with a local business, Creative By Design, to help update and teach us about accessing our own website!!!  We’re very excited about this teamwork.

2024 was a busy year of working with new Board Members and understanding how to work effectively with our Library Manager Daniell Whittington and other city offices. The Library is updating and changing so many areas and we, The Friends, want to be there right by their side supporting these wonderful changes. We hope to keep up this collaboration in 2025.

The Friends are always looking for volunteers to help in the BookShop and on our community outreach programs. Do you have a few hours a week and would like to volunteer?  We receive so many wonderful books for all ages and you can get a firsthand look at how the BookShop works from when the books first come in the Library front doors to being put out on our shelves.  The BookShop shelves are being updated daily by our busy volunteers.  To begin the volunteer process, go to https://www.coronaca.gov/i-want-to/volunteer-opportunities.  In fiscal year 2023-2024, it amazed me that our 59 Friends’ volunteers gave 8,254 hours to support our BookShop, our Board and our Library.  (By the way, we have the highest volunteer hours throughout the city.)

I appreciate all the support of our volunteers, members and Board.  I am always looking for new ideas on how we can continue to support the Corona Library. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with ideas or to have a chat over coffee.
